What is the distance between the airport to the Muscat city. Oman?

There are 11 airports in Oman but only 6 of them are civilian. The rest being private or military. Out of the 6, for civilian use, only two are paved. Seeb International and Salalah International. Seeb International is the closest to the capital, Muscat, and is the main one. Seeb international is about 10 km from the Grand Mosque, about in the middle of it all, to give you an idea of distance, as you didn’t quite say how from the airport to what. As far as the taxi far, well like with anywhere it is uncertain of what you might pay. Just know the rate of exchange for your currency to Omani Rials and judge price accordingly. You may be better served to call your hotel or host for such advice BEFORE you get to the airport, so you might know the average. Most hotels provide shuttle to and from the airport. This might help. There are a number of airports in Oman and there are plans to build new international airports. Only 2 airports are international. The first one is Salalah airport and the 2nd one is Seeb International airport. Seeb International airport is the main airport and located in the Capital area Muscat. It depends where you wanna go from the airport as Muscat is a big city. Old Muscat is about 40 km. I would say you shall expect to travel about 30-45 km to any down town in Muscat. The are 3 types of Taxis in Muscat. The 1st one is the aiport taxi and the 2nd is on call taxi. The price from the airport to the range of distance I gave is about Riyal Omani 8 (1 Riyal Omani=2.58 US Dollars). The 3rd type of Taxi is the ones you find in the streets and u can always bargin on the fare in this type and they should be cheaper. The taxis which are parked outside the airport are airport taxis. If you need street taxis u may need to walk to the main road which is not recommended as crossing the main road is difiicult.
