The Souqs
Whilst it’s all very well shopping in large designer boutiques and malls, interacting with the locals in Oman’s famous souks can be a much more rewarding way to spend your holidays in Oman. Muttriche is one of the most popular souks in Oman and you can find it located in the Corniche area of the country. This souk is known to be the best place in the country to buy jewellery from, with both gold and silver rings in abundance here. Many of the stall owners create the jewellery whilst manning their stalls and will happily create a piece to meet your criteria which you can later pick up before the end of your Omani holidays.
Bhaja Shopping Mall
The Bhaja is one of Oman’s best known shopping malls with three storeys and a number of well-known chain stores including a Debenhams located within the confines. With a location near to Seeb International Airport, Bhaja is the perfect place to spend your leftover holiday cash before returning from your holidays to Oman. The shopping mall has a number of local stores in which you can purchase your holiday souvenirs from. Items such as rose water, eyeliner and frankincense are extremely popular items with tourists on their Omani holidays and all of these can be purchased from the Bhaja Mall before the end of your trip. After a long day browsing the designer outlets you can enjoy a meal at the food court, which contains everything from fast-food restaurants like McDonalds to the traditional Omani restaurants where you can snack on hummus and olives whilst watching your children play in the malls child friendly play area.
