Dubai is quite a fun for young travellers. As everywhere its good to be cautious and discrete in a new place. Muscat- Capital of Oman is 4 hours drive by road. You can also take half hour flights. Road is a better option if you are on sight seeing visit. Oman offers virgin natural travel spots. Dubai is modern commercial high tech tourist attraction.

drive. it is only a couple hours. as for young travelers, some of the malls are pretty fun, ibn battua and mall of the emirates. maybe wild wadi which is a water park. be sure to go to the beach. although if you are coming from oman you will be less than impressed. there are a couple museums and an awesome wild life reserve in sharjah, only an hour at most from dubai. a must for young kids!
