Visit the Sultan Qaboos Grand Mosque, built 2001, near Muscat and Seeb. The Mosque has 40,000 square meters. It is open to visitors of all faiths. The craftsmanship is absolutely amazing. The interior is exquisite  with ceramic panels that are set in marble.

Another trip to take is to the Old Muttrah Souk. This is a kind of open market where you can purchase antiques, brass, and wooden trinkets.
