Hundreds of protesters rallied across Oman on Friday, demanding political reform and better working conditions. Rival demonstrations also took place in support of Oman’s ruler, Sultan Qaboos bin Said. In the industrial city of Sohar, protestors called for an end to corruption and higher wages.

Long Live Qabus – but after him i dont think Sultanate system will remain , because no one like qabus , no one is thinking about nation or country – Qaboos donated his golden 41 yrs to oman , eventhough his health is effected due to hard stuggle of 41 yrs – before 41 yrs what was oman , no living style / no development /whole nation was slave of sultan said – youth was working in saudia – bahrain – kuwait – India – iran – iraq , but in qabus regime he got best lives in their country ,

You talk about “freedom of speech” look what’s happening in Pakistan and India, due to democracy? There is so much more corruption than Arab worlds. And since US economy is down at the moment, they don’t want stability in the Arab world, this is their hidden agenda to destabilize this region by exploiting people toward freedom of speech. History has it without having democracy and those nations were successful for very long time even up to 700 years in the case of IndoPak subcontinent.

I am from Oman…and we LOVE OUR LEADER ^_^. There demands will be met, but after the sultan studies the situation closely we are sure about that. He has one peace prizes from all over the world. no wonder why Oman is 21st (higher than the UK , USA and FRANCE) in the Global peace index. and 2nd amongst Arabian countries (Qatar is 1st).

Well…. just like some of the protests it starts out peacefull then gets worse. So heres to hopeing some of the people dont mess up and start doing things they shouldn’t in there area. Sence they like there leader so mutch(or by what the media says) that is should be easy going and the demands will be met in a timely manner. Given that i bet the sultian dosen’t have mutch elce to do but help his people, i dont blame him for being a bit delayed and backed up from all the request and demands.

They are not protesters, they are unarmed freedom fighters and just want Liberty.
