I have family that lives in Oman and I have been there as well. Being a Muslim country, you have to be a little careful about your body language and dress code. Although Oman has a huge international population, it sort of makes it easy if you make the nationals themselves feel at ease about yourself. It is a safe country and not much problem as far as being safe goes. You may not want to talk to the opposite sex without thinking twice because these things are not as open in the Gulf as they would be in the west. For instance, alcohol is prohibited in Islam, so asking someone to go for a drink would be quite weird!!!
Its a great place – you’ll love the beaches and the shawarmas!

Omanis are very good people, well behave, humble and coperative. They love Sultan Qaboos bin Saeed al Muazzam ruler of Sultanate of Oman from their heart. There are no high rising buildings in whole of Oman like in UAE, all structures are white & off white colour. Every one has right to live in his own style but to take care of local culture and traditions as well. Oman is a Muslim country, following all Muslim traditions. You will find out huge number of foreginers in Muscat/Sohar and Salalah area living very comfartably and peacfully like in any other GCC countries. Some time I thought Omani women has lot of available opputunities in every walk of life as compare to other GCC Countries. They can drive, work, can go for advance and higher education abroad etc etc
You will definately enjoy sea shores, wahiba sands dessert safari, Wadi Bin Khalid, Turttle beach, Nizwa fort, Jabal Shams , Jabal Al akhdar, Salalah and many more famous tourists spots, ppl love to come here from all over the world.
