Oman’s southern port town of Salalah is a popular tourist destination because of its natural beauty. From July to September, Salalah is kept cool by light rains, despite the summer’s searing heat. As Nicole Johnston reports, locals are now chasing the clouds to get them through the dry months.

    Using Ammonium based refrigeration, like the propane fridges, they could harvest a vast amount of water with a minimum input of energy.

    This form of water capture was developed in Chile in the 1980′s.
    Its good to see other people using this technique as a solution to water shortages.

    not all the arabian pinninsula is desert, just check Oman and Yemen, btw this is the first time I’ve seen al jazeera cover Oman loooooooooooool, no one knows where and what Oman is.
