I’ve been offered a position there teaching English, but know nothing about it. Is there anything anybody has to say about Oman?

It can be an incredible place to teach. Pay is good, conditions can be good and the people are known for their friendliness and curiosity. As with all Muslim countries you should be aware of the do’s and don’t's in the area – no smoking or drinking in public and definitely no kissing!
However, it’s a beautiful country and salaries are good so you should take time to explore the area and get out to see the place.

It’s one of the 6 GCC Arab countries . It’s the poorest of Gulf countries bu has nice natural wonders such as mountains and nice beaches. It’s also very safe and quite liberal . Teaching is good and the pay is good but not as good as other GCC countries like Qatar, UAE or Bahrain.
