A friend of mine left the UAE a year and a half ago without paying his loans and cancelling his visa, his company had already made him redundant due to recession. If he goes to work in Oman can he get arrested for the UAE loans etc?

One Response to “Can you work in Oman after leaving the UAE without paying your loans and cancelling your visa?”

  1. ZACH says:

GCC rules imply that residency in one country should be cancelled to get RP (Resident Permit) in another GCC country. As a period of 18 months has already been expired, the visa expired automatically; however, the records in the UAE Immigration does not show as cancelled. The best bet is land in Oman after obtaining a visa.

With regard to the unpaid loan in UAE, it has no implication on proceeding to work in Oman. However, a case may come up through some Agency because it is a bad mark on your status.
