On which visa? As a resident of the UAE you are granted a visa to Oman. This visa is valid for staying the country for four weeks, and is extendable for one week.

By staying outside the UAE for more than 6 months, your current residence visa will expire automatically (does not mean it’s cancelled).

if u stay out of the uae more than 6 months yr residence visa will become invalid u would need to return to the uae within 6 months to keep it valid. see H’s answer i think she is correct.
