Can anyone plz elaborate on a major problem that Oman has been facing?
Posted by: admin in Oman QuestionsAnd its solution…I know they have a problem with tourism, but what else is a big problem?
what I meant with having problems with tourism is that too many tourists are coming, and the Omani government is worrying about the effect on the environment.

Not sure what direction you are headed in with your question, and what would constitute a big problem The lack of tourism is not a big problem, though it is an issue that needs to be addressed as Oman lacks the other resources needed to keep pace with other Gulf Countries. And lack of tourism is only a problem outside of Salaleh which enjoys visitors almost year-round.
In general, the biggest problem is the lack of natural resources, such as gas, oil, minerals, etc, that have exponentially increased the economies of the countries around Oman. Without these resources in vast quantities Oman has had to settle for 2nd best in many areas and ‘battle’ to keep pace. But they are moving forward, though slowly.

That their currency is pegged to the US dollar which is falling dramatically.
Solution, let go of the US dollar, and peg to a currency basket.
I dont know if they have a problem with tourism as you put it. The number of tourists each year seems to be growing.
