Im working in dubai, now i’ve and im getting 5,000/- uae dirhams, now i’ve got an offer letter with higher salary, and good package for Oman (muscat), can any one tell me in detail, what is the living cost, like food, accomodatin single/family please… thanks a lot.

Received from a friend who is living in Oman (Indian)
Housing : 1BHK RO150/200. 2 BHK 225/300 3 BHK 325/450 Villa 700-2000
Education: Indian Schools RO50 Fee Per Child+Shool Bus.
Car Cost: RO 5000/8000, So if you take a 4 year car loan you pay approx 150RO / month
Electricity, Water, Local Phone 30 RO Each (Approx).
International Calls Depends on You
Grocery / Household RO125 Approx Foa a Family of 2 Plus 2 Kids
Film Cost – RO1.5 Per Head
DVD Hire RO15 For 25 Movies
Satellite TV RO24 Per Month
For A Bachelor in Veg Restaurent a meal costs RO20 Per Month.
A Descent Dinner out Thali will cost RO2 While a multi course Indian Meal for Family (4) may cost RO25.

The main problem today in Muscat is availability of flats even if you are willing to pay a higher rent. One of my friends has just moved in there and he is paying RO 400 for a 2 bedroom apt at Darsait which is predominant indian locality.
Single rooms are available for around RO 120-150. The other cost of living would be similar to that of UAE.
