The Dubai-Oman bus operator company is Comfort Line or Comex bus (i was given 2 different names) tel. 04-2956733. They are located behind Dnata building in Deira, opposite Al Busana supermarket. A one way ticket costs dhs60, return ticket is dhs100.
The one way trip is supposed to be 5-6 hours but my friend tried it last month and it took 7 hours on the way back!

Yes , they usually advertise it in the classifieds.
Also I seem to remember seeing an Oman bound bus in front of Alrais Travel which is in the Alrais Center Building next to Khaleej center (may be spelled Alrayes don’t remember)
I don’t know if that was a one time thing or daily/weekly trip they have. you can get their number from the directory and ask.
Other people tell me there are yet other Oman/Kuwait/Saudi buses that come and park near the Deira Ras fish/veg market (near Gold Souq parking). I do not know if it is possible to get a seat on those but I believe they are some kind of chartered buses from points of origin. Though from the outside they look like regular public buses for those countries.
Also , now because of Gulf soccer cup in oman, there are free soccer fans buses taking off to Oman on match days of UAE team departing in front of Dubai’s Al Wasl & Al Sh’ab soccer stadiums. Dates are 8th, 11th, and any additional UAE team match days in the Gulf cup finals.
