Visas are dependent on your citizenship. The fact you have come from Dubai is irrelevant.

    You can apply for a visa at your port of entry (visa on arrival) for about RO7 since you are from New Zealand. This short stay visa is valid for 14 days. If you arranged your trip with a travel agent, they could arrange a tourist visa for you, too.

    But since you are also a resident of the UAE, you can also apply for a 30 day visa from the Omani Consulate in Dubai for about RO3. You only need to present a valid residence visa from the UAE

    In both cases, you won’t need a sponsor.
